Hawkins Loop Construction

The Ridge to Rivers program is applying for a non-motorized Recreational Trails Program grant for construction of the Hawkins Loop Trail. The trail would be roughly 5.5 miles in length, lying on City of Boise Hawkins Reserve property and adjacent BLM lands. The trail would be constructed at 30” wide and be open to hikers, cyclists and equestrians. As the Hawkins Loop would lie within sensitive big-game winter range, it would be closed annually during winter months. In order to provide safe access to this trail, the City of Boise will be constructing a trailhead with an outhouse and the capacity to accommodate 45 vehicles. If the grant application is successful, construction of the trail will take place in the fall of 2021. Please contact Ridge to Rivers at 208-493-2531 if you would like any further information related to this project.
