WEDNESDAY, MAY 8TH TRAIL CONDITION UPDATE:
While yesterday was certainly cool from a temperature standpoint, it was blustery enough to help dry most trails in the lower and mid-Foothills by late afternoon. As such, you should find good conditions in those locations. You are likely to still encounter mud and some snow at higher elevations so please give those trails more time to dry, and refer to our
to plan your trail outing today.Happy Trails!
HAWKINS RANGE RESERVE CLOSURE
Due to muddy conditions, access to Hawkins Range Reserve's two directional trails will be temporarily closed starting Friday, May 3 to protect the trail tread. While trail crew members worked to open the seasonally accessible reserve located off Bogus Basin Road on May 1, trail conditions are deteriorating and there are long stretches of mud along both Hawkins Loop and Harrow Trail. For this reason, the gate at the trailhead entrance will be locked ahead of the weekend. Once trail conditions improve and a re-opening date for Hawkins Range Reserve is determined, it will be posted on the Ridge to Rivers Facebook page and website. Thank you for staying out of closed areas and doing your part to protect the integrity of the trail tread.
